Landscape Architect (Entry Level)

The RGS Site Designer (Landscape Architect) is responsible for planning and designing a wide range of outdoor spaces and site development plans. They combine artistic and technical skills to ensure aesthetically pleasing and functional design solutions. Projects range from small-scale gardens to large-scale land planning designs in both urban and rural settings. Responsibilities include the development of conceptual designs using CAD software to draw plans, development of site grading solutions, construction detailing, planting designs, construction administration and observation, and report writing.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Research, review, and interpret local Zoning, Subdivision & Land Development ordinances;
- Perform site layout, grading, and road design within AutoCAD C3D (or the ability to oversee this aspect with a drafter/designer);
- Understanding of utility layout, profiling, and detailing for gravity sanitary sewer and water systems;
- Prepare planting plans;
- Prepare compelling presentation graphics/ renderings;
- Prepare lighting design;
- Material and site furniture selections;
- Understanding of stormwater conveyance design, detailing, and computations;
- Understanding of erosion and sediment control facility design, detailing, and computations;
- Prepare opinions of probable cost;
- Provide construction phase services including oversight during construction of site related features and planting plans, shop drawing review, RFI responses, CSK preparation, etc.;
- Prepare as-built record plans for submission to local, state, and federal agencies;

Civil Engineer (Entry Level)

The RGS Engineer combines core engineering abilities with ecology, geology, hydraulics, hydrology, and construction knowledge to develop sustainable engineering solutions to design challenges. The engineer is responsible for designing and implementing solutions to challenges such as site infrastructure, stormwater management, erosion control, sanitary sewer, water systems, construction detailing, construction administration and observation, and report writing.Duties/Responsibilities:
- Research, review, and interpret local SALDO, Zoning, Floodplain, and SWM ordinances;
- Perform site grading, layout, and road design within AutoCAD C3D;
- Perform utility layout, profiling, and detailing for gravity sanitary sewer and water systems with oversight;
- Prepare opinions of probable cost;
- Perform stormwater management and conveyance facility design, detailing, and computations with oversight;
- Perform erosion and sediment control facility design, detailing, and computations with oversight;
- Prepare technical reports in accordance with local and state regulatory requirements with oversight;
- Prepare permit application packages for authorization by local, state, and federal agencies including but not limited to Sewage Planning, NPDES, Chapter 105, and PennDOT utility permits with oversight;
- Provide construction phase services including oversight during the construction of PCSM facilities and site utilities, shop drawing review, RFI responses, CSK preparation, etc.;
- Prepare as-built record plans for submission to local, state, and federal agencies;

CAD Drafter
Lancaster, PAThe CAD Drafter is responsible for the creation and production of technical drawings for all aspects of RGS engineering and land planning projects. Experience drafting stormwater management systems, grading plans, erosion and sedimentation control plans, utility profiles, construction details for land development projects, and GIS mapping a plus.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Assists in supporting engineers and landscape architects by creating and revising CAD drawings.
Qualifications:- Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or trade school.
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Civil-3D, Photoshop, Land FX and/or GIS.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling software such as Sketch-Up and Lumion a plus but is not required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent organizational skills and acute attention to detail.

Project Manager (Landscape Architect or Civil Engineer)

Reports to: Client ManagerJob Summary:
The RGS Project Manager (PM) must be either a Civil Engineer or a Landscape Architect, with experience leading or designing Land Development Projects. Services are delivered both as an individual contributor and by effectively leading, managing, and coaching a team of highly motivated and skilled professionals and technicians. The PM relies heavily not just on technical expertise, but also on critical thinking, leadership, and good management practices in performing these duties.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Effectively lead, guide, and manage client projects through design, approval, permitting and/or construction to desired client results
- Can be relied on to get the projects done on time, within budget, and with good design, effectively addressing regulatory issues
- Develop and monitor budgets and plans to consistently achieve profitability goals and schedules
- Provide complete quality designs and technical expertise to projects
- Maintain schedules and workflow for the various projects
- Assist the Client Manager in developing proposals
- Mentor, coach, and help to develop junior staff
- Evaluate and anticipate knowledge and skill needs to achieve project goals
- Coordinate internal work activities to provide seamless client service
- Maintain knowledge of existing and new regulations
- Effectively interact with review agencies to facilitate the projects
- Deliver effective project presentations when appropriate in lieu of the Client Manager/ Principal
- Correspond and coordinate with clients, sub-consultants, and municipalities on design and technical issues, effectively communicating and resolving issues
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Civil Engineering
- 10+ years of related experience
