Meet Charlie.
It’s summer intern time, and we have four outstanding interns on deck. Meet Charlie Ricard. Charlie graduated this year from the University of New Haven, majoring in Civil Engineering. Want to learn about Charlie, his fear of wasps or why he picked RGS? Then I invite you to read below and get a little familiar with Charlie. Welcome aboard!
Q: What made you decide to want to major in your field?
A: My uncle was an architect and growing up he would always tell me about building designs. There is a hotel that was built when I was 14 at Foxboro Stadium and I remember listening to him talk about how it was built and what he liked and didn’t like. It made me want to design things that people won’t have any problems with.
Q: What is your favorite aspect of your field of study?
A: Hydraulics & Water Resources. I’ve taken multiple years of classes in this discipline and I see myself working in this area.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I’ve played ice hockey my entire life and find myself being an over the top fan. Whether its playing, coaching or going to Flyers games, you’ll always find me around hockey.
Q: Do you have any phobias?
A: Wasps. Growing up I was attacked in my garage by a wasp’s nest and the garage door locked.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Happy Gilmore
Q: What is your favorite food –the meal you could eat every single day?
A: Filet Mignon with blue cheese
Q: What is something you can’t live without?
A: Sports. I’ve grown up watching the 6 TIME SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS New England Patriots. Sundays wouldn’t be the same without them.
Q: On a level of 1-10, how good are you at excel?
A: 6.5. I’ve gotten multiple classes under my belt in college but I haven’t gotten real world exposure until now. I look forward to learning from the excel wizard himself; Len Bradley.
Q: What excites you about RGS?
A: The first week being here we went to a kitchen to serve people a lunch meal. It seems like RGS helps the community not for recognition but for genuine care for others.
Q: Why did you pick RGS?
A: When I interviewed I could tell RGS was a company who had it all together. Their personalities made me feel like I could fit right in when I started. I’m looking forward to the upcoming weeks with RGS!
