StoneRidge Retirement Living’s Poplar Run expansion included the addition of a three-story kitchen & dining facility, a new main entrance, a maintenance building, and twelve cottages. The masterplan included six, three-story villa style apartments with lower level parking. This project was challenged with meeting stormwater management and DEP NPDES permit requirements within an area limited by the community’s existing campus buildings and infrastructure. The solution included the design of several landscaped rain gardens and undulating detention basin bottoms that will not only reduce stormwater flows, but will improve water quality, while adding beauty to the campus landscape.
