The Turkey Hill and Live-Work Units at Newport Square are situated on approximately three acres within the neo-traditional development. The project includes 14 first floor commercial/retail units with apartments on the second and third floors, three fee simple townhomes that complete the Balmer Road streetscape, and a Turkey Hill convenience store positioned near the main entrance of the development. The retail units facing North Oak Street include a pedestrian arcade which is anchored by a public plaza.
Newport Square is located in Warwick Township, and required conditional use zoning approval within the Village Overlay district. RGS coordinated negotiations with the adjoining property owner for future street connections and coordinated road widening for the turn lanes into the convenience store. Detailed plaza and entrance features were incorporated into the design to tie the project to a historical barn integrated into the master plan for the community.
